In this workshop we will be making a slab-built bottle form, which we will decorate with a combination of traditional slip decorating techniques. Jennifer will demonstrate sliptrailing, brushwork, spongework with stensil making and sgraffito.
There will be an opportunity to experiment with the decoration on handmade tiles, before applying your newfound slipware skills on your own bottle form. Jennifer will share her slip recipes and the experience she has built up over the last 28 years of being a studio potter.
No previous experience necessary, but if you are a keen potter and have favourite tools for hand building and slip decorating, do please bring them along.
After the workshop Jenny will take the ceramics back to her Pembrokeshire based Studio to fire them in the Kiln. They will then be posted back to the Stiwdio Biwmares Gallery for collection 4-8 weeks later.
